Sample readiness assessment
For decision owners choosing what to investigate, defer, or test.
Scenario: a fictional document-sharing SaaS application. Scope includes one application, its service connection, and its identity dependency. All owners and evidence below are illustrative; no customer system was inspected.
Executive decision
- Recommendation
- Investigate CONN-01 first; do not authorize migration yet. The sample inventory lacks deployed configuration and supplier support evidence. APP-01 needs separate identity-owner review.
- Data and impact assumption
- Assume documents need confidentiality for ten years; this fictional planning assumption must be confirmed by the business owner. Disclosure could expose documents; incompatible changes could interrupt access. No probability or financial loss is asserted.
Decision and ownership register
- CONN-01 · investigate
- Priority: investigate first because of the assumed confidentiality lifetime and missing peer evidence. Platform owner obtains exact client/server versions, supported protocol profiles, and recovery constraints. Business owner confirms data lifetime.
- APP-01 · clarify
- Application owner confirms whether jose is executed and which signature and verification roles it serves. Do not select a replacement before checking identity-provider compatibility and trust requirements.
Exceptions and phased roadmap
- EX-01 · unresolved supplier support
- Defer candidate selection until the supplier documents exact version, availability, supported peers, and rollback constraints. Owner: platform owner. Risk acceptance: not granted. Review when evidence arrives or requirements change.
- Sequence and review gate
- First reconcile inventory and owners; next verify vendor evidence and business assumptions; then scope a CONN-01 laboratory test if support is demonstrated. Decision owners review priorities. Production work remains outside this sample.
