Define your next post-quantum migration decision.

Understand where cryptography is used, identify migration priorities, and test a selected approach through clearly scoped assessment and laboratory work for SaaS companies and SMEs.

Evolext’s work currently focuses on research, assessment, and controlled laboratory prototypes. Production changes require separately agreed engineering and validation.

Choose your starting point.

01 / We do not know where cryptography is used.

Cryptographic inventory

The question this answers

Where is cryptography used, and what evidence is missing?

Suitable inputs

A named system owner and written authorization for the agreed scope

Possible deliverables

A scoped cryptographic inventory with source and confidence labels

Scope boundary

Supported source observations and supplied system evidence; no promise of complete discovery.

02 / We need priorities and a roadmap.

Readiness assessment

The question this answers

Which migration decisions should we prioritize, investigate, or defer?

Suitable inputs

A cryptographic inventory or enough evidence to establish a bounded baseline

Possible deliverables

An evidence-labelled readiness summary and decision register

Scope boundary

Prioritization and a roadmap; no compliance certification or readiness guarantee.

03 / We have a defined candidate to test.

Controlled migration prototypes

The question this answers

Can a selected approach meet agreed compatibility and operational criteria in a test environment?

Suitable inputs

A selected use case with an identified owner and decision objective

Possible deliverables

A documented architecture decision and evidence level

Scope boundary

Isolated testing of a selected path; production deployment and independent assurance are separately scoped.

How an engagement works

  1. 01

    Discuss the scope

Agree the question, systems, decision owners, and intended outputs.

  2. 02

    Authorize and agree handling

Confirm written authorization, access boundaries, and evidence-handling arrangements before collection.

  3. 03

    Investigate

Review approved evidence or test a selected approach within the agreed environment.

  4. 04

    Review the findings

Walk through observations, uncertainty, limitations, and acceptance criteria.

  5. 05

    Agree next decisions

Record actions, owners, unresolved questions, and any separately scoped work.

What a deliverable can look like

Illustrative example · not client work

Inventory entry

Observation / decision
A local manifest declares a cryptographic dependency.
Evidence source
An approved manifest export, reviewed within a defined repository scope.
Uncertainty
Declaration does not establish execution, actual algorithms, or complete coverage.
Owner
Application owner, to be confirmed.
Next action
Confirm reachability and cryptographic role; record unresolved dependencies.

Illustrative example · not client work

Assessment decision record

Observation / decision
Investigate a service connection before selecting a migration option.
Evidence source
A bounded inventory and architecture notes supplied for review.
Uncertainty
Vendor support and data-confidentiality requirements remain unconfirmed.
Owner
Technology decision owner, to be agreed.
Next action
Obtain vendor evidence and data-lifetime requirements before prioritizing a prototype.

Illustrative example · not client work

Prototype validation summary

Observation / decision
A candidate protocol path needs an interoperability decision.
Evidence source
A planned test matrix and laboratory measurements; no measured results are asserted in this example.
Uncertainty
Client compatibility, resource costs, and fallback behavior are not yet established.
Owner
Engineering owner, to be agreed.
Next action
Run agreed tests and record pass, fail, and untested cases before any production decision.

What the evidence can establish

Source observations
Supported source and dependency patterns can identify review candidates. They do not establish runtime use or comprehensive discovery.
Supplied documentation
Architecture, configuration exports, and vendor statements add context. Their currency and completeness must be checked.
Human review
System owners can reconcile purpose, ownership, and business impact. Unknowns and assumptions remain recorded.
Laboratory testing
Defined tests can demonstrate behavior in the tested environment. Results do not automatically generalize to production.

Evolext work is research-, assessment-, and prototype-stage. Guidance and source findings do not establish production readiness, compliance, or universal security.

Agree how evidence will be handled.

Access boundaries, approved collection methods, permitted recipients, and retention or deletion arrangements must be agreed before collection. Discuss whether approved exports can answer the question without production access. Do not send repositories, credentials, keys, or confidential reports through the inquiry form.

References and review

NCCoE guidance informs discovery and migration planning. FIPS 203, 204, and 205 define ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA algorithm standards respectively; they do not establish protocol, vendor, or system readiness. Applicable references and implementation limits must be recorded for each engagement. References are not certification.

Questions about scope

Can we start without a cryptographic inventory?

Yes. A bounded inventory can be the first task. If you already have suitable evidence, we can discuss whether it supports an assessment directly.

Does the scanner inspect runtime, cloud infrastructure, or certificates?

No. The current prototype inspects supported source files and recognized local dependency declarations. Other evidence requires a separately agreed review.

Will this certify our organization or prove readiness?

No. The work produces scoped evidence and decisions, not certification, a readiness guarantee, or comprehensive security assurance.

Can the work use approved exports instead of production access?

Potentially. We agree which exports can answer the question and record what cannot be verified. Production access is not assumed.

What happens when evidence or vendor support is incomplete?

We record gaps, assumptions, owners, and follow-up questions. An unsupported path may be deferred or stopped rather than presented as ready.

Is production migration included?

Current work focuses on research, assessment, and controlled laboratory prototypes. Production engineering, deployment, validation, and independent assurance require separately agreed scope.

Bring a system, an objective, and a boundary.

Tell us which system or migration decision you want to explore. Keep the first inquiry high-level; do not submit credentials, private keys, secrets, or confidential reports.
